Alferd Hitchcock est le cinéaste qui a le mieux incarné le cinéma. Son nom est l'un des plus légendaires auprès du public. Consacrer une exposition à un cinéaste, et à fortiori le plus célèbre, est un pari audacieux mais légitime. Depuis une trentaine d'années, l'oeuvre fascine un nombre croissant d'intellectuels. Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window is one of the icons of American filmmaking.
