Dit boek bevat een beschrijving in beelden van vijf tentoonstellingen van Michel François (1997-2002). De bedoeling van de maker van het boek (Hans Theys) was voor de eerste keer in boekvorm zichtbaar te maken hoe dezelfde werken van Michel François telkens op een andere manier gebruikt worden in de ruimte en hoe de ruimte zelf ten slotte opgevat wordt als een sculptuur. Naast een inleidende tekst van Hans Theys bevat het boek ook een bondige beschrijving van elke behandelde tentoonstelling en een interview met Michel François over de manier waarop hij zijn tentoonstelling vormgeeft. Een Nederlandse versie van de inleidende tekst en een fragment van het interview werden in mei 2003 gepubliceerd in het tijdschrift Nieuwzuid.

Depuis leur rencontre en 1985, Ann Veronica Janssens et Michel François ont tourné autour de l'autre, se rapprochant régulièrement ou s'éloignant parfois. Cet ouvrage met en scène un dialogue intime entre leurs œuvres, retraçant les « liaisons feutrées et les tensions subtiles », comme l'écrit Guillaume Désanges, directeur du Palais de Tokyo, qui affleurent à la surface de deux œuvres remarquablement distinctes. En plus de cent soixante œuvres d'art, cette publication historique rassemble une vaste collection de recherches et de photographies personnelles couvrant quatre décennies de pratique.

Het boek is samengesteld door de kunstenaar i.s.m. Roger Willems en focust op het gehele oeuvre van Michel François. Het besteedt zowel aandacht aan sculpturen en installaties als aan fotowerken en posters. Sleutelwerken worden aan de hand van korte beschrijvingen door de kunstenaar toegelicht. Het geheel wordt verrijkt met een essay van Guillaume Désanges en een uitgebreid gesprek tussen Michel François en Jean-Paul Jacquet. Het boek wordt ingeleid door Philippe Van Cauteren en Nathalie Ergino en afgesloten met een biografie van de kunstenaar. Alles tezamen biedt het boek een helder inzicht in de ontwikkelingen en dwarsverbanden binnen het werk van Michel François en zal het als onmisbaar referentiewerk gaan dienen voor toekomstige reflectie over het werk van Michel François.

Ministre de Louis XIV, grand rival de Colbert, Louvois (1641-1691) est l'homme de confiance et le collaborateur le plus intime du Roi-Soleil. Son caractère brutal et autoritaire, son implication dans certains épisodes peu glorieux du Grand Siècle – l'affaire des Poisons, la révocation de l'Édit de Nantes, le ravage du Palatinat –, nourrissent très tôt une légende noire. Grâce à une approche profondément renouvelée, Jean-Philippe Cénat nous livre ici un bilan plus nuancé de l'action de Louvois et révèle la personnalité de l'homme derrière le mythe. Programmé pour succéder à son père Michel Le Tellier à la tête du département de la Guerre, Louvois est un gestionnaire et logisticien hors pair, qui fait de l'Armée française la première d'Europe.
