Psychophysics and Experimental Phenomenology of Pattern Cognition examines the cognitive transformations that underly this cognitive system, and the specialized subsystems for processing these transformations. Sections cover symmetry cognition, contour perception, and geometric illusion. Weight sensation is also discussed, as are repetitive and dot patterns. Incorporating the fields of psychophysics and experimental phenomenology, pattern cognition is examined from both the physical and mental sensory perspective, providing a comprehensive view of this cognitive system. Examines the cognitive transformations underlying pattern cognition, and the specialized subsystems for processing transformations Provides an interdisciplinary psychophysics and experimental phenomenology perspective Features sections on cover symmetry cognition, contour perception, and geometric illusion Describes weight sensation, and repetitive and dot patterns.

In Silico Approach Towards Magnetic Fluid Hyperthermia in Cancer Treatment: Modeling and Simulation presents mathematical modeling and simulation approaches contrary to costly and time consuming in-vivo and in-vitro studies. Finite element method-based models of all hyperthermia processes of liver, brain and breast tumors are simulated on COMSOL Multiphysics software. Problems of constant versus variable heat sources, the backflow problem, the enhanced permeation and retention effect, the flow around Happel's sphere in cells model structure, the deformation effect in poroelastic brain tumor, 3D flow through porous tissue, the reacting nanofluid flows, and optimization of parameters have been simulated for quantitative analysis. This important reference aids in hyperthermia treatment planning in clinical applications and provides an important compendium for practitioners as well as non-medical practicing scientists and engineers and is resource for both research and medical practice in hyperthermia treatment planning in clinical applications. Includes the diversities of cancer treatment modalities for their eradication with minimum damage to surrounding normal tissue Addresses tumors of different organs including liver, brain and breast Deals with mathematical modeling and simulation approaches contrary to costly and time consuming in-vivo and in-vitro studies Provides insights on how to use hyperthermia in cancer treatments in addition to other conventional types of treatments.

Numerical PDE Analysis of Retinal Neovascularization Mathematical Model Computer Implementation in R provides a methodology for the analysis of neovascularization (formation of blood capillaries) in the retina. It describes the starting point-a system of three partial differential equations (PDEs)-that define the evolution of (1) capillary tip density, (2) blood capillary density and (3) concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the retina as a function of space (distance along the retina), x, and time, t, the three PDE dependent variables for (1), (2) and (3), and designated as u1(x, t), u2(x, t), u3(x, t), amongst other topics.--

Mereon is an approach to the unification of knowledge that relies on whole systems modelling. It is a scientific framework that charts the sequential, emergent growth process of systems. A dynamic structure, Mereon provides insight and a new approach to General Systems Theory and non-linear science. Mereon evolved through a new approach to polyhedral geometry and topology that is related to the dynamics of the polyhedra. It is related to a large number of systems, physical, mathematical, and philosophical. In linking these systems, Mereon provides access to new relationships among them and
