"Electrochemistry of Flotation of Sulphide Minerals" systematically covers various electrochemical measurements, especially electrochemical corrosive methods, electrochemical equilibrium calculations, surface analysis, semiconductor energy band theory as well as molecular orbital theory. Behaviour and mechanism of collectorless and collector-induced flotation of sulphide minerals in various flotation systems are also discussed. The example of electrochemical flotation separation of sulphide ores shows an industrial application. Prof. Yuehua Hu is a professor at the School of Minerals Processing & Bioengineering of Central South University and Vice Chairman of the Mineral Processing Committee of the China Nonferrous Metals Society. Dr. Wei Sun is an associate professor at the School of Minerals Processing & Bioengineering of Central South University. Prof. Dianzuo Wang is both a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, and a foreign associate of the National Academy of Engineering (USA).

This fourth edition of the highly successful and concise textbook contains about 20 % new data. Now included are chapters on 19F and 31P NMR as well as references to important Raman bands. With their unique approach of presenting - in the form of texts, tables, charts, and graphs - a succinct compilation of essential reference data for the interpretation of NMR, IR, UV/Vis, and mass spectra, the authors also provide a hands-on guide for interpreting experimental spectral data and elucidating the structure of the respective compounds behind them. Besides spectra of common solvents, calibration reagents, and MALDI and FAB MS matrix materials, fragmentation rules for mass spectrometry and UV/Vis spectra of representative compounds are included. The book will benefit students during courses and exercises, and advanced learners may use it to supplement their understanding of extended textbooks on the topic. While only a basic knowledge of spectroscopic techniques is required to use this book, it will serve as a data reference for specialists in the field and will support practitioners routinely faced with the task of interpreting spectral information. From a review of the previous edition: "Practically all teachers in spectroscopy and countless students know these books and work continuously with them." (Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry, 2002, Vol. 40, Issue 3, p. 247)

This text is intended to provide a modern and integrated treatment of the foundations and applications of continuum mechanics. There is a significant increase in interest in continuum mechanics because of its relevance to microscale phenomena. In addition to being tailored for advanced undergraduate students and including numerous examples and exercises, this text also features a chapter on continuum thermodynamics, including entropy production in Newtonian viscous fluid flow and thermoelasticity. Computer solutions and examples are emphasized through the use of the symbolic mathematical computing program Mathematica®.

The book provides a comprehensive treatment of combinatorial development of heterogeneous catalysts. In particular, two computer-aided approaches that have played a key role in combinatorial catalysis and high-throughput experimentation during the last decade - evolutionary optimization and artificial neural networks - are described. The book is unique in that it describes evolutionary optimization in a broader context of methods of searching for optimal catalytic materials, including statistical design of experiments, as well as presents neural networks in a broader context of data analysis.

Symmetry through the Eyes of a Chemist, 3rd Edition Magdolna Hargittai and István Hargittai are PhD's (Eötvös University), DSc's (Hungarian Academy of Sciences), and Dr.h.c.'s (University of North Carolina). They are currently affiliated with the Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry and Materials Structure and Modeling Research Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. They are also members of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Academia Europaea (London). Reviews of previous editions This has to be the most delightful book on symmetry ever written! F.L. Pilar, Elementary Quantum Chemistry The book gives a fascinating overview of the rich variety of applications of symmetry, showing both its power and its aesthetic appeal. Science Education by aesthetic appeal. Nature The cosmopolitan eye ¦ good-humored and clearly delighted by diversity, informs this entire book. The work offers a broad new perspective. Scientific American In the refreshing style of scientists with an almost renaissance versatility. New Scientist This beautiful book ¦ looks at symmetry as a unifying theme in the nature of things. Mathematical Reviews ¦gives the reader a broad perspective ¦ The Mathematical Intelligencer An outstanding book that succeeds admirably on a number of levels ¦ Bowker's Good Reading I warmly recommend it to all chemists. Journal of Chemical Education Succeeds not only in demonstrating how central [in] the study of all fields of chemistry symmetry consideration [is] but how these same concepts of symmetry can be traced through all our cultural traditions unifying and contrasting diverse endeavors in literature, music, and art. Journal of the American Chemical Society The book ¦to which I shall return frequently and with considerable pleasure. Chemistry and Industry
