Fostering Human Development through Engineering and Technology Education (ETE) is a collaborative work offered to students, scholars, researchers, decision-makers, curriculum developers, and educators interested in the rich learning opportunities afforded by engineering and technology education. This book provides perspective about the roles ETE might uniquely play in applying contemporary pedagogical practices to enhance students' intellectual, cognitive, and social skills in the service of promoting equitable and sustainable human development. In Baden wurden 1834 Gewerbeschulen gegründet, um die Handwerkslehre durch Teilzeitunterricht zu fördern. Die 1825 eingerichtete Polytechnische Schule Karlsruhe unterstützte die Gewerbeschulen durch Entwicklung von Lehrplänen und Lehrmitteln, Fachaufsicht sowie Lehrerbildung. Die EU empfahl 1979 ein mit dem badischen Modell übereinstimmendes duales System, wobei die Teilzeitschule die systematische Unterweisung übernimmt.

The report aims to gain a better understanding of youth employment outcomes in the hope of crafting more sound and responsive policies. The first part of this study provides an analysis of how youth spend their time and the determinants of this time use. The second part of the study provides an overview and analysis of the technical and vocational education and training sector. It also provides recommendations on how the sector can be made more responsive to the needs of youth in the light of the findings of the first part of the study
