Abstract

La profession d'ergothérapeute dispose d'un langage international, hautement spécialisé et largement débattu. Les ergothérapeutes francophones y accèdent cependant difficilement, faute de lire en anglais. Cet ouvrage, basé sur le travail d'un groupe de projet du réseau européen des écoles d'ergothérapie (ENOTHE) autour de la terminologie, revisite, sélectionne, définit et traduit les principaux concepts contemporains de l'ergothérapie. Il met en évidence leurs relations et les regroupe en quelques familles de manière à former un cadre conceptuel capable de rendre compte de la complexité des occupations humaines et des pratiques de l'ergothérapie. Afin de familiariser le lecteur avec les références internationales, l'auteur expose les différents sens que peut revêtir le vocabulaire employé dans la littérature. L'usage commun des termes est opposé à leur usage spécialisé qui soutient théoriquement la méthodologie mise en oeuvre dans les démarches d'analyse d'activités, d'évaluation et d'intervention.
