The surgical treatment of hernia requires an extensive knowledge and technical ability. Astley Cooper stated that no disease of surgical interest requires so broad skills and knowledge as hernia and its variants. The history of groin hernia repair evolved from life-saving procedures (such as for incarcerated hernias) to elective operations performed as day-surgery procedure. Le traitement de la hernie discale, objectivée médicalement, dans notre société industrielle, semble impliquer comme solution finale quasi obligatoire habituelle, un acte chirurgical, ce qui nous parait excessif. N'existerait-il pas une autre alternative à cette décision ?Ces années nous ont donnés avec plus de 400 cas traités, une pratique suffisante. A la fin, de plus, on peut affirmer qu'une explication n'est valide que si elle se vérifie, c'est à dire si, dans ce cas la technique crée bien les conditions pour une guérison du patient. Car, seul le corps a réellement cette capacité.
