The book that accompanies the exhibition entitled "Cathedrals" at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen from 12 April to 31 August 2014. The book displays over 150 diverse works including paintings, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, books, movies, etc., and how the cathedral was gradually elevated to a national symbol, and as a source of inspiration for artists throughout the nineteenth century, the emblem of the monarchy, faith, and country. Ouvrage qui accompagne l'exposition "Cathédrales" présentée au musée des beaux-arts de Rouen, du 12 avril au 31 août 2014. L'ouvrage démontre en plus de 150 oeuvres très diverses (peintures, sculptures, bijoux, photographies, livres, films, etc.) comment la cathédrale s'est peu à peu élevée au rang de symbole national. Source d'inspiration pour les artistes tout au long du XIXe siècle, emblème de la monarchie, de la foi ou de la patrie, elle n'a eu de cesse d'être revendiquée par des camps parfois opposés.
