800 Views of Airports documents a lengthy series of work by Peter Fischli (born 1952) and David Weiss (1946-2012). For this ongoing documentary project, the artistic duo photograph the airports they passed through in their travels around the world over nearly 25 years, in a quest for exotic banality throughout different cultures. Their images of these nondescript airports focus on the humdrum aspect of air travel: the fuel vehicles, the baggage trucks, the daily routines of airport workers, the long antiseptic corridors and sprawling tarmacs surrounded by panoramic views of empty vistas.

Germanium is a semiconductor material that formed the basis for the development of transistor technology. Although the breakthrough of planar technology and integrated circuits put silicon in the foreground, in recent years there has been a renewed interest in germanium, which has been triggered by its strong potential for deep submicron (sub 45 nm) technologies. Germanium-Based technologies: From Materials to Devices is the first book to provide a broad, in-depth coverage of the field, including recent advances in Ge-technology and the fundamentals in material science, device physics a

Germanium is a relatively scarce element found in the Earth's crust at a concentration of 0.007% in the form of bromides, chlorides, fluorides, iodides, hydrides, oxides, selenides, sulfides and telurides. It occurs mostly as germanium oxide (GeO2) and germanium tetrachloride (GeCl4). Germanium is widely used as a component in electronic and optical devices and has found several applications in metallurgy, chemotherapy, nanotechnology and catalysis. In this book, the authors present current research in the study of the characteristics, sources and applications of germanium. Topics include meta

The first edition of Silicon Germanium Materials & Devices - A Market & Technology Overview to 2006 examines the development of the silicon germanium business over a six-year period 2001 to 2006. It analyses the trends in markets, technologies and industry structure and profiles all the major players. It is specifically aimed at users and manufacturers of substrates, epiwafers, equipment and devices. The analysis includes a competitive assessment of the market of silicon germanium vs. gallium arsenide, indium phosphide vs. other forms of silicon. Silicon Germanium

This textbook gives an account of the accomplishments related to the development of 99mTc-radiopharmaceuticals and their application in diagnostic nuclear medicine. Since radioactive drug development is a multi-disciplinary task, experts working in nuclear medicine and research institutions have contributed valuable information concerning the preparation with sterile kits, methods of quality control, and the use of 99mTc-radiopharmaceuticals in patients. In addition, the legal aspects governing production and clinical application are also considered. Section 1 contains basic principles and methods used for analysis. Special emphasis is given to the analytical methods verifying pharmaceutical quality. Section 2 contains monographs of 99mTc-radiopharmaceuticals used in nuclear medicine. Each monograph includes information on the chemistry, formulation, commercial products and trade names, factors affection in-vivo performance, clinical information on pharmacokinetics, as well as details concerning the clinical application and the radiation dose to patients. This book can serve for daily practice in nuclear medicine, serving as a reference source as well as a teaching tool.
