Dans le bassin du Congo, l'exploitation des ressources de la forêt a toujours été au cœur des formes les plus violentes de la relation coloniale. L'exemple de la région de la forêt du Dja dans le sud-est du Cameroun suggère que l'installation du pouvoir colonial s'est appuyée sur la mise en place d'un complexe « territoire-population-ressources », processus similaire à celui qui a eu cours en Occident dès la fin du XVIIe siècle. Nous pensons que cette « gouverne­mentalisation de la population », si l'on s'appuie sur cette notion proposée par Michel Foucault, est déterminante dans la compréhension des modes d'exploitation de la forêt en vigueur depuis la décolonisation jusqu'à aujourd'hui. Il nous est dès lors possible d'envisager les stratégies de pouvoir adoptées par les exploitants forestiers et par les acteurs du développement durable comme faisant partie d'un même dispositif de gestion combinée de la nature et du social. La nouvelle loi forestière adoptée par le gouvernement camerounais en 1994 apparaît comme le point de jonction du discours scientifique sur la population et la forêt tropicale et des intérêts du secteur forestier industriel. Dans ce contexte, les Badjoués qui habitent la périphérie de la Réserve de biosphère du Dja se trouvent être à la fois la cible des conservationistes et des exploitants forestiers. In the Congo basin, logging has always been at the heart of the most violent forms of the colonial relationship. The example of the Dja forest region in south-eastern Cameroon suggests that the installation of colonial power was based on the establishment of a "territory-populationresources" system that was similar to the one that began in the West at the end of the 17th century. We believe that this "governmentalization of the population," to borrow an idea from Michel Foucault, is essential to understanding the forest harvesting methods in use from decolonization up to the present. It then becomes possible to consider the power strategies adopted by loggers and sustainable development supporters as being part of the same system for managing both nature and society. The new forestry law adopted by the Cameroon government in 1994 would appear to be at the crossroads between the interests of the industrial forestry sector and the scientific discourse about the population and the tropical forest. It is in this context that the Badjoués living on the edge of the Dja Biosphere Reserve are targeted by both conservationists and logging companies. En la cuenca del Congo, la explotación de los recursos forestales siempre ha estado en el centro de las formas más violentas de la relación colonial. El ejemplo de la región del bosque del Dja en el sudeste de Camerún sugiere que la instalación del poder colonial se apoyó en la organización de un complejo « territorio-población-recursos », proceso similar al que se vivió en Occidente desde el final del siglo XVII. Pensamos que esta « gobernamentalización de la población », si nos apoyamos en esta noción propuesta por Michel Foucault, es determinante en la comprensión de los modos de explotación del bosque que se aplican desde la descolonización hasta la hoy en día. Es así posible visualizar las estrategias de poder adoptadas por los explotadores forestales y por los actores del desarrollo durable como integrantes del mismo dispositivo de gestión que combina la naturaleza y lo social. La nueva ley forestal adoptada por el gobierno camerunés en 1994 aparece como el punto de unión del discurso científico sobre la población, sobre el bosque tropical y los intereses del sector forestal industrial. En dicho contexto, los Badjues que habitan la periferia de la reserva de la biosfera del Dja constituyen el blanco tanto de los conservacionistas como de quienes explotan los recursos forestales.
