Las publicaciones en esta serie se enfocan en temas como el gobierno abierto, la prevención de la corrupción y la promoción de la integridad en el sector público, la gestión de riesgos, el comercio ilícito, las instituciones de auditoria, y la reforma del servicio civil. Los estudios dedicados a las prácticas en un país específico evalúan la capacidad de la administración pública para alcanzar los objetivos del gobierno y enfrentar los retos actuales y futuros. Al analizar cómo funciona la administración pública de un país, estos estudios se centran en la cooperación interdepartamental, las relaciones entre los niveles de gobierno y con los ciudadanos y las empresas, la innovación y la calidad de los servicios públicos, y el impacto de la tecnología de la información en las actividades del gobierno y su interacción con las empresas y los ciudadanos.

Costly and lengthy regulatory barriers, accompanied by sluggish markets, have long been reasons for companies and their shareholders to look for alternatives to Initial Public Offerings (IPOs). A popular alternative has often been to pursue backdoor listing – often accomplished through a reverse merger, exchange offer, or rights offer, for instance. Because backdoor listings are often not under the strict oversight of listing rules and regulations, it is argued that they are prone to fraud and abuse. This report provides four regulatory strategies for consideration by policy makers in Indonesia, in order to support their efforts to improve listing and corporate governance standards.

The ability to deliver essential public services and government functions is a prerequisite for well-functioning, legitimate states. It is also a necessity if states are to meet the most basic needs of their citizens while maintaining security and stability, bringing in foreign direct investment, pursuing poverty reduction objectives and strengthening governance. In order to take a more strategic approach to this key development challenge, several members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), together with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and a group of middleincome countries, launched the Partnership for Democratic Governance (PDG) in 2007. It is housed by the OECD and supported by UNDP. Books in this series are outputs of this Partnership.
