Like European political parties, French political parties face a number of challenges and are subject to many tensions at the dawn of the twenty-first century, even though their attractiveness has never seemed so low. arrangement around the Rassemblement pour la Republique (RPR) and the Union for French Democracy (UDF) on the right, and the Socialist Party (PS) and the French Communist Party (PCF) on the left, the party system itself has even considerably evolved under the effect of the recomposition of the parliamentary right, the collapse of the Communist Party or the breakthrough of newcomers, such as the National Front or the Greens. After the sequence of presidential and legislative elections of 2012, this book analyzes in depth the state of each of the active parties in the political system. How does each of them position themselves in relation to the transformations of partisan activity? How do parties interpret the mutations they face? How do they deal with the disaffection they experience? What ideological and organizational evolutions do they know? These issues are discussed in this reference book. The authors present an original overall picture, systematically offering a party analysis at work in the French political system; which is completed by a reflection on the major transformations of the electoral geography.

"Le persone con dislessia evolutiva hanno caratteristiche specifiche di apprendimento che le portano ad avere difficoltà di lettura permanenti e, in modo più evidente, nelleprime fasi di scolarizzazione.In passato tali difficoltà si imputavano, erroneamente, alla pigrizia dell’alunno e al suo scarso impegno, provocando ricadute emotive sullo studente e la sua famiglia. La Legge170/2010 ha finalmente riconosciuto dislessia, disgrafia, disortografia e discalculia come Disturbi Specifici di Apprendimento (DSA) e, negli ultimi anni, sono stati emanati diversi provvedimenti al fine di garantire a tutti gli studenti che presentano difficoltà non ordinarie la piena partecipazione alla vita scolastica e di offrire adeguate e personalizzate risposte pedagogiche. "Abusive posts on social media target women engaged in online conversation with words and images that affirm patriarchal ideologies and fixed gender identities, to maintain cyberspace as a man’s world. This book investigates online misogyny as a pervasive yet little-researched form of hate speech. By focusing on six cases of cyber harassment directed at women in Australia, Italy, and the United States, this qualitative analysis reveals specific discursive strategies along with patterns of escalation and mobbing that often intertwine gender-based harassment with racism, homotransphobia, xenophobia, and ageism. The author provides a taxonomy of negative impacts on targets that integrates findings across cases and indicates pathways from hate speech to harms. The study suggests an urgent need for effective measures against the threat posed by misogynistic hate speech to individuals and to an open, respectful forum for online communication.Beatrice Spallaccia is Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the University of Bologna (Department of Interpreting and Translation, Forlì Campus). In 2017 she completed an International PhD (University of Bologna – Monash University) with a thesis on online misogyny. Her academic research focuses on gendered hate speech, anti-gender discourses in Europe, and the translation of LGBTQ-themed literature for young readers."

Gender discrimination continues to be a reality in several parts of the world, also in Europe. The aim of this book is to provide an overview of both European Union’s (EU) gender policies and gender balance in EU institutions. It does so by looking at gender equality policies and the EU legal system concerning gender equality, women’s representation within diff erent institutions (and more particularly in the European External Action Service), gender rights as a type of human rights and the EU’s role in the external promotion of womens’ rights in third countries. The analysis shows that women’s representation in the EU institutions has increased in the last decades and that the EU has strengthened its att ention to gender rights in its external relations as well, however the results of both att empts are far from being fully satisfactory.
