La date du 13 mai 1958 marque un carrefour de l’histoire française. Une république meurt en un drame indolore, une nouvelle est en gestation avec le retour du général de Gaulle. Entre les deux, l’inexorable crise du fait colonial semble suspendue. Les questions s’enchaînent : l’impasse de la Quatrième République n’a-t- elle été scellée que par une conjonction de facteurs exceptionnelle ? La Cinquième, notre régime républicain d’aujourd’hui, est-elle entachée d’une origine illégitime ? Le bénéficiaire des évènements s’illusionnait-il sur la réalité algérienne ? Et quelle était-elle à ce moment ? De Gaulle fut-il placé en connaissance de cause devant un nœud d’ambigüités ? Les historiens et les témoins répondent par l’étude d’acteurs individuels ou collectifs et de situations dont les ressorts divergent malgré une dynamique provisoirement orientée. Et l’on s’accorde aujourd’hui pour reconnaître que le retour du général de Gaulle n’était pas inscrit par avance dans l’émeute du 13 mai 1958. Au total, l’ouvrage fait le point de nos connaissances sur le sujet, explore de nouvelles sources, suggère des pistes de recherche et remet en cause quelques mythes. Si l’histoire est toujours en quête d’approfondissements, les éclairages apportés ici devraient, sans prétendre à une impossible exhaustivité, arracher l’historiographie du 13 mai 1958 à l’emprise de toute littérature polémique.

Die Jahre zwischen 1918 und 1921 gehören zu den interessantesten Abschnitten der deutschen Militärgeschichte: Das Kaiserreich war untergegangen, seine Streitkräfte in Auflösung begriffen, das notorische 100.000-Mann-Heer noch nicht errichtet. Doch mit der »vorläufigen Reichswehr« verfügte die junge Republik bereits über eine provisorische Armee. War diese Truppe nur ein »Staat im Staate«? Oder wäre es möglich gewesen, aus ihr eine verfassungstreue Streitmacht zu formen? Anhand vielfältiger Quellen erforscht Peter Keller Entstehung und Entwicklung der »vorläufigen Reichswehr« im Spannungsfeld von politischem Erneuerungswillen und militärischem Sicherheitsstreben. Schritt für Schritt entsteht dadurch das erstaunlich facettenreiche Bild einer zu Unrecht vergessenen deutschen Armee.

The purpose of this research is to examine the effectiveness of regional blocs in dealing with regional crises with a global dimension, through the case study of ECOWAS action regarding the July Putsch in Niger.
The research examines the dynamics of the coup d'état in Niger and the reactions raised towards this event through a literature review about the role of regional intergovernmental organizations and a deep analysis of press articles and political statements of the actors involved in the event. The framework used to assess the ECOWAS role is Complex adaptive system.
The results reveal that regional organizations are constrained by power dynamics that reflect the interests and influence of the most powerful member states and geopolitical interests of foreign powers. The conclusions help to understand the issues faced by regional institutions and offer insight into the intricate relationship between state-centric dynamics and institutional influences of regional intergovernmental organizations.
The findings provide valuable insights that can be applied to other regional organizations facing similar challenges. This case study is useful and sheds light on the intricacies of regionalism, providing valuable perspectives on the strategic use of sanctions by regional bodies against their member states experiencing unconstitutional changes. 
This dissertation encourages further exploration of the dynamics within regional organizations in crisis management. It establishes a framework for investigating regional intergovernmental organizations that takes into account both state-centric and institutional dynamics when analyzing regional responses to crises within an academic framework, making possible a deeper examination of regionalism and the evolving roles that such bodies play in addressing global challenges.
