Reset Materials investigates the potential of locally available regenerative, and recycled materials in the intersection of architecture and art. Nettle, Hemp, Flax and Eelgrass; Monoblock; Hempcrete; Mycelium; Plastics, Silicon, Tree, Biocement, Straw and Earth – behind these works are ten interdisciplinary teams made up of architects, artists and manufacturers, a new generation of Denmark’s creatives joining forces to present their compelling visions of a post-carbon architecture. Continuing the exhibition Reset Materials curated by Chrissie Muhr at Copenhagen Contemporary, Reset Materials both documents and reflects on the multidisciplinary dialogues of the ten teams and materials, entangling shared learning and practice, science and aesthetics. A manual providing a series of tactile collages, empirical voices and interview transcripts, reports and reflection by expanding the discourse locally and globally through essays by Amalie Smith, Galaad van Daele, and Victor Boye Julebæk with Nicolai Bo Andersen amongst others.The project is initiated and funded by Dreyers Fond.

How do we make building sustainable and fit for the future? The book presents a strategy for tackling the construction industry's future challenges from the perspective of the organizing architect, and with a view to the interdisciplinary knowledge, capable of integration, of related disciplines. With a profound insight into the operative processes, the author analyses the complex mechanisms of the system that affect the whole of society and often follow very traditional process structures. He investigates the interaction between the stakeholders' actions in the construction process and the framework conditions and, on that basis, develops a strategy which-itself a process-computes the elements of the intended target state. Wie machen wir das Bauen nachhaltig und zukunftsfähig? Das Buch präsentiert eine Strategie zur Bewältigung der Zukunftsaufgaben der Baubranche aus der Perspektive des organisierenden Architekten und mit Blick auf das transdisziplinär integrierbare Wissen verwandter Disziplinen. Mit profundem Einblick in die operativen Vorgänge analysiert der Autor die komplexen gesamtgesellschaftlichen Systemzusammenhänge, die oft althergebrachten Prozessstrukturen folgen. Er beleuchtet die Wechselbeziehungen zwischen den Handlungsmustern der Baubeteiligten und den Rahmenbedingungen und entwickelt daraus eine Strategie, die - selbst ein Prozess - einen künftigen Soll-Zustand entwirft.
