Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist die Abschätzung der Wirtschaftlichkeit und der Umweltwirkungen der Herstellung chemischer Grundstoffe aus Holz in einer frühen Phase der Prozessentwicklung. Am Beispiel eines Organosolv-Aufschlussverfahrens für Laubholz mit einer anschließenden Trennung der Holzkomponenten Cellulose, Hemicellulose und Lignin wird ein Energie- und Stoffstrommodell zur integrierten ökonomischen und ökologischen Bewertung und Optimierung entwickelt und exemplarisch angewandt.

Die Schnellpyrolyse von Biomasse befindet sich noch in der technologischen Entwicklung. Es bestehen somit Wissensdefizite, die es bis jetzt noch nicht erlauben, das Verfahren zu bewerten oder gar in zukünftige Märkte einzuordnen. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Arbeit steht daher die Beantwortung nachfolgender Fragen:- Welche verfahrenstechnischen Unsicherheiten existieren beim jetzigen Entwicklungsstand? - Wie stellen sich die wesentlichen technischen und ökonomischen Kenngrößen der Schnellpyrolyse von Stroh und Waldrestholz im kommerziellen Maßstab dar?
