Abstract

Within recent years there has sprung up a movement in our public schools for greater attention to the process of character building. Although this aspect of education has always held a prominent place in parochial and religious school administration, the same has not been true in like degree of the public schools. This movement, therefore, is of no little significance, for indirectly, at least, it is a tacit admission of the part which the will plays in the educative process, since character is largely the result of individual self-assertion, of strength of will.
