Né en 1945, Jean Nouvel s'est fait une place parmi les meilleurs de l'architecture moderne avec son immeuble résidentiel Nemasus, l'Institut de Monnde Arabe à Paris (1987), l'Opéra de Lyon (1993), la Fondation Cartier à Paris (1994) et les Galeries Lafayette à Berlin (1996) La salle de concert de Lucerne a été inaugurée en août 1998. Ce livre documente le bâtiment et est vu à travers les yeux de l'architecte lui-même. Jean Nouvel a pris les photos spécialement pour cette publication. Dans l'essai, "La Représentation Exacte d'un Testament", Jean Nouvel réfléchit sur son processus de création, et la publication est complétée par les plans du bâtiment.

The Elbphilharmonie is Hamburg's new landmark and is already an icon of contemporary architecture.
