The third, online Slovenian edition of the History of Historiographic Thought combines all the original texts of the first (2006) and second (2016) editions as well as some new ones. It is an answer to the specific needs of the community of readers, especially teachers and students of history and related sciences. The book covers over two and a half millennia long history of the evolution of historiography since its earliest beginnings~new (and in some cases old) translations of selected chapters of the major works of Western historical thought, accompanying chapters and biographical sketches form an outline of the development of historiography in Greek and Roman antiquity (including some basic texts of non-historians), a comprehensive review of medieval authors with special emphasis on the Byzantine and Renaissance historiography, followed by a thoughtful selection of early and modern authors. The excerpts from their most influential reflections on the meanings of historiography define the historiography of the Enlightenment, confronts the national and positivist interpretations of the past, presents sources of the so-called new historiography and assesses the impact of postmodernism on the development of past ten years in historiography and the creation of a new cultural history, which inaugurated the 21st century.

The micro-history of resistance and collaboration, as the subtitle could read of Gestrin's study on the life in the villages at the base of Mt. Krim in 1941-1945, is the author's attempt at reconstructing the most traumatic period in Slovenian history. Gestrin's history of death and hope is not just another descriptive statistics of combat units, but rather a cross-section of a violent daily routine that divided former neighbors into members of the resistance and collaborators with the occupying forces. These are brought back to life in the central chapters of the book, also by revealing nearly every aspect of their existence: what kind of families they came from, what they did for a living, the extent to which were they (if at all) active in the Communist Party or a trade union organization before the war. To what extent were they (if at all) torn between work in the nearby Ljubljana and chores on their farms, how did they experience the occupation, why did they join the Partisan and MVAC units, respectively, and, finally, why were they forced or otherwise compelled to switch sides and what implications did that have for their families.

Enajsta knjiga Historičnega seminarja prinaša sedem razprav domačih in tujih avtorjev, ki so nastale na podlagi predavanj v Historičnem seminarju. Aneta Markuszewska predstavlja dve operni deli z antičnim motivom Ifigenije (Ifigenija v Avlidi in Ifigenija na Tavridi), ki sta nastali leta 1713 za rimsko gledališče Marije Kazimire Sobieske. Mojca Kovačič se v svojem prispevku sprašuje o mejah in svobodi pri ustvarjanju ljudske glasbe. Géza Pálffy piše o obrambi pred Turki in vojaški kartografiji v habsburški monarhiji na področju Madžarske, Hrvaške in Slavonije v 16. stoletju. Prispevek Arna Strohmeyerja se ukvarja z mirovno misijo, na katero je kot vodja cesarskega veleposlaništva k Visoki porti leta 1719 odpotoval plemič iz spodnjega Porenja Damian Hugo von Virmont. Raymond Miller se posveča mestu Jerneja Kopitarja v srednjeevropskem prostoru v začetku 19. stoletja. Andrej Stopar razpravlja o ruskem odnosu do polpretekle zgodovine, predvsem o odnosu do Stalina. Jure Zupan pa piše o pomenski mreži slovenskih glagolov, ki jo sestavlja približno 15.500 slovenskih glagolov, združenih v 1011 pomenskih skupin.

Deveta knjiga Historičnega seminarja prinaša sedem razprav, ki se posvečajo zgodovini v najširšem smislu. Dejan Zadravec piše o omembah plemstva v župnijskih matičnih knjigah med Savo, Sotlo in Savinjo do leta 1770. Zgodovino in biografijo združuje prispevek Mojce Horvat o življenju prve mariborske zdravnice Klare Kukovec, zgodovinsko-etnološka študija Daše Koprivec pa izpostavlja uveljavljeno podobo aleksandrinke kot dojilje. Tri raziskave zgodovino povezujejo z umetnostjo – Gašper Cerkovnik se ukvarja s knjižnimi lesorezi Albrechta Dürerja in njegovega kroga, Katarina Šter poskuša pojasniti, kako je zvenela liturgična glasba v srednjeveški kartuziji Žiče, Alexis Bennett pa išče povezavo med filmsko glasbo in pojavom obujanja stare glasbe. Z metodološkega vidika se zgodovine loteva prispevek Miha Seručnika o uporabi sodobnih računalniških orodij pri obdelavi gradiva za zgodovinopisje.
