In 2020, it will be exactly one hundred years since the city of Antwerp acquired its Congolese collection in the middle of the colonial era. What is the history of these Congolese objects? How do they end up in the port city? The exhibition presents one hundred unique works and looks at their significance for different Congolese peoples. You will learn the influence of Christian missions on Congolese culture and the Congolese view of 'white' (mundele). Exhibition: MAS, Antwerp, Belgium (02.10.2020 - 29.03.2021). En 2020, cela fera exactement cent ans que la ville d'Anvers aura acquis, en pleine époque coloniale, sa collection congolaise. Quel est l'histoire de ces objets congolais? Comment se retrouvent-ils dans la ville portuaire? L'exposition présente cent œuvres uniques et se penche sur leur signification pour différents peuples congolais. Tu apprendras l'influence des missions chrétiennes sur la culture congolaise et le regard des Congolais sur le 'blanc' (mundele). Exhibition: MAS, Antwerp, Belgium (02.10.2020 - 29.03.2021).
