C'est au cours d'un voyage d'étude à Turin, contexte de l'intérêt voué au projet du Castello di Rivoli, que fut prise la décision d'aborder la philosophie d'intervention et l'architecture d'Andrea Bruno comme sujet de mémoire de fin d'études. En quoi la réhabilitation est-elle si importante qu'elle y paraît aujourd'hui ? Comment peut-elle valoriser un bâtiment existant ? Y a-t-il des règles qui définissent cette manière d'intervenir d'Andrea Bruno est-elle intéressante ? Comment l'analyse d'une vision particulière peut-elle être enrichissante ? Comment des concepts théoriques s'appliquent-ils aux projets réalisés ? Peut-on tirer des enseignements de cette analyse ? Telles sont certaines des questions soulevées par le sujet étudié, auxquelles l'ouvrage tente de répondre par une démarche qui combine une approche théorique de la philosophie d'intervention d'Andrea Bruno et une exploration de quelques-uns de ses projets majeurs, par le biais des concepts révélés dans la première partie. Au vu de la maigre bibliographie témoin de son travail, ce mémoire permet d'appréhender et de comprendre sa façon de concevoir ses projets de réhabilitation. Le point de vue d'Andrea Bruno étant très particulier, mais riche, profond et complexe se révèle finalement d'un grand enseignement. Benjamin Moray est diplômé de l'Institut supérieur d'Architecture Saint-Luc de Bruxelles (2007). Il est aussi lauréat du prix de la Fondation Vanhove-Vonnêche (Histoire de la restauration architecturale) à l'Académie royale de Belgique (2007).
