Lucio Fontana (1899?1968) is one of the most important avant-garde artists of the 20th century and continues to inspire artists, designers and architects. He is known for his iconic monochromatic paintings with vertical cuts. Lucio Fontana: The Conquest of Space highlights the ideas of Fontana?s Concetto spaziale and shows how these spatial notions took shape not only in his slashed canvases, but also in his sculpture, jewellery, and installations. With photography by Anuschka Blommers and Niels Schumm, and texts by Colin Huizing and Paulo Campiglio, this publication is an indispensable overview of Fontana?s innovative spatial views on art. bron: https://www.copyrightbookshop.be/shop/lucio-fontana-the-conquest-of-space-de-verovering-van-de-ruimte/

A dazzling look at modern videogame worlds seen through an architectural lens, utilizing maps, diagrams, and graphic illustrations to offer new perspectives on the art of virtual world building. Videogame Atlas presents a journey through twelve well-known videogame worlds via panoramic maps, intricate exploded diagrams, and detailed illustrations. The book offers a playful new way of seeing these beloved virtual worlds using the practices and academic rigor that underpins real-world architectural theory.Titles such as Minecraft, Assassin?s Creed Unity, and Final Fantasy VII are explored in exhaustive detail through over 200 detailed illustrations of the micro and macro, each with supporting commentary and architectural theory. Taking influence from high-end architectural monographs, the book is carefully designed to the smallest of details and its production is intricately executed. This book, printed in five colors, with neon ink throughout, is a culmination of Luke and Sandra?s work, which includes founding the Videogame Urbanism studio at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL that promotes the use of game technologies in architectural education.Bron: https://www.copyrightbookshop.be/shop/videogame-atlas-mapping-interactive-worlds/

The new edition of this landmark international work builds on the previous two volumes, offering a window onto occupational therapy practice, theory and ideas in different cultures and geographies. It emphasizes the importance of critically deconstructing and engaging with the broader context of occupation, particularly around how occupational injustices are shaped through political, economic and historical factors.Centring on the wider social and political aspects of occupation and occupation-based practices, this textbook aims to inspire occupational therapy students and practitioners to include transformational elements into their practice. It also illustrates how occupational therapists from all over the world can affect positive changes by engaging with political and historical contexts.Divided into six sections, the new edition begins by analyzing the key concepts outlined throughout, along with an overview on the importance and practicalities of monitoring and evaluation in community projects. Section Two explores occupation and justice emphasizing that issues of occupational injustice are present everywhere, in different forms: from clinical settings to community-based rehabilitation. Section Three covers the enactment of different Occupational Therapies with a focus on the multiplicity of occupational therapy from the intimately personal to the broadly political. Section Four engages with the broader context of occupational therapy from the political to the financial. The chapters in this section highlight the recent financial crisis and the impact it has had on people?s everyday life. Section Five collects a range of different approaches to working to enable a notion of occupational justice. Featuring chapters from across the globe, Section Six concludes by highlighting the importance and diversity of educational practices.

Published to accompany the first UK retrospective of Olafur Eliasson's work, this book is conceived as an illustrated `field guide' to his practice. Featuring a substantial conversation between the artist and the Tate curator Mark Godfrey, as well as a range of short dialogues with a strikingly varied range of people working both inside and outside the arts - from anthropology, economics, political science, and biology to architecture and urbanism, dance, music, and food - the book provides readers with a "compass" to Eliasson's thinking: a 360-degree view of the frames of reference that inform his work. Eliasson builds such conversations into his daily life and work. They help him not only to understand other people's unique fields of knowledge, but also to ask, `What does my understanding of your knowledge do to my understanding of the world?', and touch on topics as wide-ranging as the social and cultural factors that contribute to social trust, the `topography' of scent, the chronobiological effects of light, public space and civic infrastructure, and the power of art. The interweaving of these texts with stunning photography of his remarkable and immersive works provides an insight into what Eliasson calls his ongoing aim of "reaching out into the world". Exhibition: Tate Modern, London, UK (11.07.2019-05.01.2020).
