Die evidenzbasierte Physiotherapie und Ergotherapie in der Schlaganfallrehabilitation hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten zu einer auf Beweismaterial gestützten Heilkunde entwickelt und umfasst heute Formen der therapeutischen Behandlung, bei denen patientenorientierte Entscheidungen ausdrücklich auf der Grundlage von nachgewiesener Wirksamkeit getroffen werden sollen. Ausgangspunkt dieses Buches sind Beobachtungen, die auf Widersprüche zwischen der gelebten Praxis und den Erkenntnissen der Therapiewissenschaften hindeuten. Daraus ergeben sich Schwierigkeiten im Theorie-Praxis-Transfer. Die Zielsetzung der vorliegenden Arbeit bestand darin, die Problematik aus psychologischer Sicht darzustellen, die Konsequenzen zu diskutieren und mögliche Wege zur Überwindung der Theorie-Praxis-Kluft anzudenken. Präsentiert werden hierzu der aktuelle Stand der Forschung zum Theorie-Praxis-Transfer in der Neurorehabilitation und die Ergebnisse problemzentrierter Interviews mit Experten. In der Zusammenschau zeigen die Ergebnisse, dass therapeutisches Verhalten durch ein komplexes Zusammenspiel aus Gelegenheiten, Fähigkeiten und Motivation beeinflusst wird. Auf allen drei Ebenen bieten sich vielfältige Ansatzmöglichkeiten zur Verbesserung. Vieles deutet darauf hin, dass eine Verhaltensänderung möglich ist, diese jedoch umfassende Ansätze auf allen Ebenen erfordert (Fähigkeiten, Gelegenheiten und Motivation). Zudem geht aus den Ergebnissen hervor, dass entsprechende Maßnahmen auf die jeweiligen Settings und Zielgruppen zugeschnitten werden müssen. Physiotherapy and occupational therapy in stroke rehabilitation has developed over the last decades into an evidence-based therapeutically science and includes forms of therapeutic treatment in which patient-oriented decisions are to be made explicitly on the basis of proven effectiveness. The starting point of this book are observations that indicate contradictions between everyday practice and the findings of the therapeutic sciences. This results in considerable difficulties in the transfer of theory to practice. The aim of this book was to present the problem from a psychological point of view, to discuss the consequences and to think about possible ways to overcome the gap between theory and practice. The current state of research on transfer of theory to practice in neurorehabilitation and the results of problem-centered interviews with experts will be presented. In summary, the results show that therapeutic behavior is influenced by a complex interaction of opportunities, capabilities and motivation. On all three levels, there are a variety of possible approaches for improvement. There are many indications that a change in behavior is possible, but that this change requires comprehensive approaches at all levels (abilities, opportunities and motivation). The results also show that appropriate actions must be tailored to the respective settings and target groups.

De Timothy McVeigh, le terroriste américain qui a fait exploser un édifice fédéral, à Aileen Wuornos, la prostituée meurtrière de l'Interstate 75 qui, comme lui, a succombé à la peine capitale, en passant par Andrea Yates, cette mère cinq fois infanticide, aujourd'hui emprisonnée et contrôlée médicalement, et Armin Meiwes, désormais sous les verroux, qui a mangé un homme rencontré par le biais d'Internet, Catherine Mavrikakis analyse des cas spectaculaires et dramatiques qui ont nourri la chronique durant les dernières années. Elle s'attache à fourbir des armes contre la peine de mort et plonge ici " dans ce temps de la simultanéité où, comme toute bonne nageuse synchronisée, elle s'efforce de garder le sourire et surtout de ne pas respirer".

Rehabilitation medicine is a medical specialty with a focus on functional improvement and quality of life. Professionals working in rehabilitation medicine care about not only medical but also functional problems. There have been significant changes in rehabilitation medicine with development of basic science and computer technology in the last several decades. Collaboration with other areas of science and engineering has contributed to improvements in rehabilitation outcomes. Also, changes in the medical delivery system has resulted in increasing necessity of rehabilitation. Depuis 30 ans, des milliers d'hommes et de femmes originaires du Vietnam ont quitté leur pays pour venir s'installer au Canada et au Québec, et ce, dans des conditions souvent difficiles. Aujourd'hui, la communauté vietnamienne compte plus de 25 000 personnes à Montréal et dans sa région. Ce n'est certes pas la plus nombreuse dans le paysage ethnique montréalais, mais elle y occupe une place importante. La plupart des Viéto-Montréalais se sont admirablement bien adaptés à leur société d'accueil et leurs expériences migratoires demeurent singulières. Mais les connaissons-nous vraiment ? Que savons-nous de leur vie familiale, de leurs activités économiques et de leurs croyances religieuses ? Quelle est la situation des jeunes ? Par delà la simple description, les auteurs tentent de saisir les mécanismes ayant permis à cette communauté de bâtir au Québec une vie économique, sociale et culturelle nouvelle, en adéquation avec son identité. La notion de « capital social », largement abordée ici, permet de mieux comprendre comment les familles et les communautés immigrées établissent des relations solides à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur de leur groupe d'origine. Tout au long de cet ouvrage qui privilégie une approche anthropologique, le lecteur pourra comprendre comment les Viéto-Montréalais ont su tirer parti du multiculturalisme ambiant pour mieux s'adapter et s'intégrer.

The article collection of this Special Issue reprint covers a wide range of neurorehabilitation modalities, although they only represent a small proportion of the whole scene. We trust that they will assist clinicians in performing evidence-based interventions and illuminate the necessity of multidisciplinary collaboration. Furthermore, they share an important motivational drive, that is, the inspiration to move forward to a new era where medical, basic research, engineering, and high-tech advances can develop more efficacious approaches, combining neuromodulation techniques under sophisticated neuroimaging guidance. These can be widely and remotely applied to all people that need them, organized under a fresh "patient-centric" approach, with home-based and tele-rehabilitation protocols replacing long stays in medical centers.
