"Das vorliegende Buch erkennt im Jakobusbrief eine durchgehende rhetorische Struktur, die einem konsequenten Gedankengang folgt. Dieser eröffnet einen faszinierenden Blick in den Ursprung der menschlichen Existenz: Gott, der Vater der Lichter, ruft einen jeden durch sein Wort der Wahrheit ins Leben, um am Werk seiner Schöpfung mitzuwirken (1,18) und an einem vollkommenen Werk, der 'Vollendung des Herrn' (5,11), teilzunehmen. Wer dieses eingepflanzte Wort in rechter Disposition aufnimmt und einstimmt, erkennt darin 'das vollkommene Gesetz der Freiheit' (1,25). Freilich kann sich der Mensch auch durch äußere Verlockungen verführen lassen und seine wahre Identität verlieren. Die hier vorgeschlagene Struktur ist ein Schlüssel, um scheinbar unzusammenhängende Argumente und Thesen in eine einsichtige Argumentation zu fügen, die eine bisher viel zu wenig geschätzte philosophisch-theologische Tiefe aufweist. Deshalb wird auch jeweils auf Übereinstimmungen bei Denkern der Vergangenheit und Gegenwart hingewiesen."--
