Abstract

"Data has revolutionized the current digital ecosystem. The readily available large datasets foster AI and machine learning automated solutions. However, the data format and its collection from various sources not only introduce unprecedented challenges to different domains including IoT, manufacturing, smart cars, power grids etc, but at the same time highlights the security and privacy issues in this age of big data. The humongous scale of extraordinary scale, security and privacy in big data faces many challenges, such as generative adversary networks, efficient encryption and decryption algorithms, encrypted information retrieval, attribute-based encryption, attacks on availability, and reliability. The purpose of this book is to offer a timely venue for researchers and industry partners in communications and networking domains to present and discuss their latest results in security and privacy related work of big data"--

Abstract

Provides an up-to-date analysis of big data and multi-agent systems The term Big Data refers to the cases, where data sets are too large or too complex for traditional data-processing software. With the spread of new concepts such as Edge Computing or the Internet of Things, production, processing and consumption of this data becomes more and more distributed. As a result, applications increasingly require multiple agents that can work together. A multi-agent system (MAS) is a self-organized computer system that comprises multiple intelligent agents interacting to solve problems that are beyond the capacities of individual agents. Modern Big Data Architectures examines modern concepts and architecture for Big Data processing and analytics. This unique, up-to-date volume provides joint analysis of big data and multi-agent systems, with emphasis on distributed, intelligent processing of very large data sets. Each chapter contains practical examples and detailed solutions suitable for a wide variety of applications. The author, an internationally-recognized expert in Big Data and distributed Artificial Intelligence, demonstrates how base concepts such as agent, actor, and micro-service have reached a point of convergence—enabling next generation systems to be built by incorporating the best aspects of the field. This book: Illustrates how data sets are produced and how they can be utilized in various areas of industry and science Explains how to apply common computational models and state-of-the-art architectures to process Big Data tasks Discusses current and emerging Big Data applications of Artificial Intelligence Modern Big Data Architectures: A Multi-Agent Systems Perspective is a timely and important resource for data science professionals and students involved in Big Data analytics, and machine and artificial learning.

Abstract

"This textbook is dedicated to practitioners, graduate, and advanced undergraduate students who have interest in Data Science, Business analytics, and Statistical and Mathematical Modeling in different disciplines such as Finance, Geophysics, and Engineering. This book is designed to serve as a textbook for several courses in the aforementioned areas and a reference guide for practitioners in the industry. The book has a strong theoretical background and several applications to specific practical problems. It contains numerous techniques applicable to modern data science and other disciplines. In today's world, many fields are confronted with increasingly large amounts of complex data. Financial, healthcare, and geophysical data sampled with high frequency is no exception. These staggering amounts of data pose special challenges to the world of finance and other disciplines such as healthcare and geophysics, as traditional models and information technology tools can be poorly suited to grapple with their size and complexity. Probabilistic modeling, mathematical modeling, and statistical data analysis attempt to discover order from apparent disorder; this textbook may serve as a guide to various new systematic approaches on how to implement these quantitative activities with complex data sets."--

Abstract

"Data science is a multi-disciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured (labelled) and unstructured (unlabelled) data. It is the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the necessity of future to make things easier and more productive. In simple terms, Data science is the discovery of data or uncovering hidden patterns (like complex behaviors, trends, and inferences) from data. Moreover, Big Data Analytics/Data Analytics are the analysis mechanism used in Data Science by Data Scientist. Several tools like Hadoop, R, etc., are being used to analyse this large amount of data that can be used in predicting the valuable information/ making decisions. Note that structured data can be easily analysed by efficient (available) business intelligence tools, while most of the data (80% of data by 2020) is in unstructured form that requires advanced analytics tools. But while analysing, we face several concerns like complexity, scalability, privacy leaking and trust issues. Data science helps us in extracting meaningful information (or insights) from the unstructured or complex or large amount of data (available or stored around us virtually at cloud). In summary, this book will cover all the possible areas, applications with arising serious concerns, and challenges towards this emerging area/ field in detail (with a comparative analysis/ taxonomy). This books provides information to its readers This book gives concept of Data Science, Tools and Algorithms existed for many useful applications This book provides many challenges and Opportunities in Data Science and Data Analytics, which help researchers in identifying research gaps or problems to continue their research work All possible areas and uses of data science in this smart era This book is in written many areas like agriculture, healthcare, Graph mining, Education, Security, etc., for providing a clear understanding to readers. Academician, Data Scientist, and Stockbrokers from Industry/Business will find this book useful in knowing optimal strategies for enhancing their firm's productivity."

Abstract

"Timandra Harkness cuts through the hype to put data science into its real-life context using a wide range of stories, people, and places to reveal what is essentially a human science--demystifying big data, telling us where it comes from and what it can do. 'Big Data' then asks the awkward questions: What are the unspoken assumptions underlying its methods? Are we being bamboozled by mega data's size, its speed, and its shiny technology? Nobody needs a degree in computer science to follow Harkness's exploration of what mega data can do for us--and what it can't or shouldn't. 'Big Data' asks you to decide: Are you a data point, or a human being?"--Provided by publisher. Big data knows where you've been and who your friends are. It knows what you like and what makes you angry. It can predict what you'll buy, where you'll be the victim of crime and when you'll have a heart attack. Big data knows you better than you know yourself, or so it claims. But how well do you know big data? You've probably seen the phrase in newspaper headlines, at work in a marketing meeting, or on a fitness-tracking gadget. But can you understand it without being a Silicon Valley nerd who writes computer programs for fun? Yes, you can. Timandra Harkness writes comedy, not computer code. The only programs she makes are on the radio. If you can read a newspaper, you can read this book. Starting with the basics--what IS data? And what makes it big?--Timandra takes you on a whirlwind tour of how people are using big data today: from science to smart cities, business to politics, self-quantification to the Internet of Things. Finally, she asks the big questions about where it's taking us; is it too big for its boots, or does it think too small? Are you a data point or a human being? Will this book be full of rhetorical questions? No. It also contains puns, asides, unlikely stories and engaging people, inspiring feats and thought-provoking dilemmas. Leaving you armed and ready to decide what you think about one of the decade's big ideas: big data.--From dust jacket.
