"In 2015 the scientific community celebrated the 500th anniversary of the death of Aldo Manuzio il Vecchio, whose genius perfected the art of printing as an effective tool for disseminating knowledge and, through a tireless work of intellectual research, he was able to exalt its revolutionary port. The oxymoric called "Festina lente", figured, in the iconic brand of the anchor and the dolphin, fully expresses the spirit of the cultural renovatio promoted by Aldo. To contribute to the aforementioned cinquecentenario Manuziano Pier Davide Accendere and Stefano U. Baldassarri have set up a collection of six critical studies signed by eminent scholars of the famous humanist printer: Lorenzo Baldacchini, Edoardo Barbierei, Robert Black, Giancarlo Petrella, Brian Richardson and Piero Scapecchi." --Translated from back cover
