The impact of two non-uniform elastic rods is considered and a recursive method was developed that solves the inverse problem: Find the location-dependent impedance function of the impacting rod that generates a prescribed impact force. The developed method delivers exact solutions in closed-form. Moreover, a condition is derived which states if a physically meaningful solution exists. Finally, the underlying 1D model has been validated experimentally.

Modern human resources management ("people analytics") requires the use of complex algorithms and the evaluation of a vast amount of data. In this context, companies easily get into conflict with the applicable data protection regulations. The author presents the relevant provisions on data, industrial constitution and telecommunications law and uses practical case studies to show which pitfalls must be considered. In this context, he designs legally compliant solutions for the use of automated decisions, Big Data and IoT in companies. A sample works agreement on possible use scenarios is also drafted for the target group of lawyers, works councils and companies. Modernes Personalmanagement („People Analytics“) bedarf des Einsatzes komplexer Algorithmen und der Auswertung einer Vielzahl von Daten. Hierbei geraten Unternehmen schnell in den Konflikt mit den geltenden Datenschutzbestimmungen. Der Autor stellt die einschlägigen Vorschriften zum Daten-, Betriebsverfassungs- und Telekommunikationsrecht dar und zeigt anhand konkreter Fallbeispiele auf, welche Fallstricke zu beachten sind. Er entwirft rechtskonforme Lösungen für den Einsatz von automatisierten Entscheidungen, Big Data und IoT im Unternehmen. Für die Zielgruppe der Anwälte, Betriebsräte und Unternehmen wird zudem eine Musterbetriebsvereinbarung zu möglichen Einsatzszenarien entworfen.
