La recherche des principes, et plus particulièrement, d’un Principe, d’un terme premier auquel le monde, en son devenir ou en son être, se trouve suspendu, peut être considérée comme le projet originel de la philosophie. On n’en trouvera pas dans cet ouvrage à proprement parler l’histoire. Celui-ci se propose plutôt d’insister sur le sens et les conséquences de cette exigence du principe, à partir de laquelle la philosophie a organisé son développement et en laquelle s’enracine son questionnement. C’est en étudiant les rapports - faits d’emprunts et de critiques - qu’entretiennent Platon, Aristote et Plotin, qu’on peut apercevoir le mieux les tensions qui travaillent la notion même de principe : comment concilier sa nécessaire transcendance avec l’égale nécessité de son rattachement aux choses qui dépendent de lui ?

La Filosofia teoretica di Solov´ëv raccoglie tre articoli apparsi tra 1897 e 1899 sulla rivista moscovita Questioni di filosofia e psicologia diretta da Lopatin, amico d’infanzia dello stesso Solov´ëv. Questi articoli verranno successivamente indicati come i primi tre capitoli della «filosofia teoretica» e costituiscono il primo passo, l’impetus di un intero sistema della metafisica, rivolto a coloro che esigono il rigore del pensiero e sono capaci di uno sguardo intellettuale o speculativo. Solov´ëv pone qui in stretta connessione il problema gnoseologico e quello ontologico, esponendo l’identità della domanda sull’essere e di quella sulla verità attraverso l’interrogazione sulla natura ontologica del male.

Texte d’une prodigieuse densité, à la réputation de joyau et de forteresse imprenable pour les uns, de chef d’œuvre d’arbitraire pour les autres, l’Esthétique transcendantale de la Critique de la raison pure de Kant a suscité jusqu’à nos jours dans les pays de langue allemande une vaste littérature exégétique, apologétique ou polémique. Elle n’a pas retenu semblablement l’intérêt en France. Kant a formellement récusé comme opposées au propos de l’idéalisme transcendantal les lectures tendant à contourner le moment de la réceptivité de notre pouvoir de connaître, à annuler d’une manière ou d’une autre la réceptivité et l’affection. L’Esthétique transcendantale se trouve ici défendue contre ceux qui la tiennent pour la partie la moins neuve ou la moins intéressante de la Critique, pour le vestige d’un état dépassé de la pensée kantienne en 1781, pour un corps étranger à la Critique contredisant à son inspiration même, ou contre ceux qui pensent quelle n’est sauvable que si on l’interprète comme une étape pro-pédeutique pour s’élever au point de vue qui permettra de la dépasser.

Heidegger's Introduction to Metaphysics is one of the most important works written by this towering figure in twentieth-century philosophy.
