Cancer prehabilitation is a combination of prevention and rehabilitation. Early movement therapy interventions starting before medical cancer therapy provide for physical and psychological fitness during the cancer treatment. Early data show that beyond preventing relevant cancer-specific adverse effects, they promote compliance with medication dosage and reduce days in hospital. Ein neuer Forschungsbereich ist die Cancer Prehabilitation (deutsch Prähabilitation), eine Verbindung von Prävention und Rehabilitation. Das Prinzip ist, dass frühzeitige bewegungstherapeutische Interventionen noch vor der medizinischen Krebstherapie die Patienten körperlich wie auch psychisch fit für die Krebsbehandlung machen. Ziel ist damit eine Verhinderung bzw. Abmilderung von Komplikationen und Nebenwirkungen. Erste Daten zeigen, dass nicht nur relevante, krebsspezifische Nebenwirkungen verhindert, sondern auch die medizinische Therapiedosierung erhalten und Krankenhaustage reduziert werden können.

This diverse collection of writings by Taco Hidde Bakker addresses the philosophy, politics, and art of photography, with topics ranging from the tension between artist and model to the landscapes of the American West and the predicament of transcultural photography. This book deals with one of the main themes in the life and thinking of Nicholas of Cusa (1401-1464), the experience of conflict and the need to realise reconciliation and tolerance.
