"Newborn Screening in Japan--2021" is a topical collection of the International Journal of Neonatal Screening. Japan's newborn mass screening (NBS) was started in 1977 at the national level as a national project. Subsequently, screening was conducted for six diseases. From 2014 a tandem mass analyzer (tandem mass) was introduced nationwide, and in addition to the conventional amino acid metabolism disorders urea cycle disorders, organic acid metabolism disorders and fatty acid metabolism disorders have joined the target diseases. Screening is currently conducted for 20 diseases. The acceptance rate of mass screening in Japan is 100%, and top-level screening measures available in the world, such as a quality control system and an inspection system, are carried out. This book is an overview of the history, current status and future of NBS in Japan. I hope that readers are interested in this book.

Thousands of patients present to emergency departments each year for medical treatment, and the first person they are greeted by is the triage nurse. The role of the triage nurse is to assess patients as they arrive and determine the priority of care. This book looks at the history of triage from the first rudimentary form of triage by Baron Dominique Jean Larrey stepping through the world wars, and looking at triage systems in use today. Triage today has evolved from the military form of triage, and is used in emergency departments throughout the world. This book describes four of the triage

This book provides a practical overview of a central topic in cervical cancer concerning human papillomavirus (HPV), prevention, cervical cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Since the finding of human papillomavirus (HPV) being the cause of cervical cancer and its precursor symptoms, effective screening based on HPV DNA testing and prevention methods by HPV vaccination are established. Furthermore, new surgical methods, radiation therapy, and drug therapy are developed. To summarize the history and the recent advancement, this book is presented in five attractive parts: pathogenesis and epidemiology, cancer screening and prevention strategies, diagnosis and clinical management of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), surgical treatments, and multimodal therapy. Recent Topics on Prevention, Diagnosis, and Clinical Management of Cervical Cancer is an appealing source for gynecologists, gynecologic surgeons, gynecologic pathologists, and gynecologic, clinical, and radiation oncologists. Also, primary care doctors, public health nurses, nurses, and pharmacists involved in cancer and other medical personnel will find the information and challenges presented tempting.
