Annotation Born on the pages of science fiction comics in the 1920s and 30s, the cyborg lives in popular imagination. As hero of the cyberpunk epic, in its brief but intense history, the cyborg has followed and anticipated the rapport and conflict between man and machine. In the post-Fordist era of digital networked media the cyborg unfolds itself in the dissemination of multiple bodies: on the Internet, in the shift of individual identity, in the new collective aggregation connected by software. It bridges virtuality and concreteness, possibility and necessity. The cyborg thus becomes a field of social conflict, one of the new figures in which the bio-political perspective is embodied.

The hither written final degree project presents the different studies carried out on an artwork formed by three sheets made based on the adhesion of butterfly wings. An analysis is presented, of both conceptual level (descriptive data, origin of the artwork, study of the meaning of the subject matter) and material level (constitutive elements and deep description of them, precedents in the art history), to get to know those discrepant factors that will determine the proposal for the restoration process, which will be reached through a thorough study of the subject matter and its reactions to various materials and through a detailed decision-making process. It also presents an analysis of the state of conservation of the artwork, as well as the various factors of deterioration that would be responsible of its degradation, and proposes through its conclusions an adequate methodology for the aforementioned intervention. Finally, it also specifies the appropriate measures to preserve the artistic object, taking into account its transport and storage needs, as well as the most appropriate exhibition system.

Using books, articles, unpublished letters, political manifestos, posters, and other such ephemeral remainders, The Retreat from Organization offers critical assessments of feminism from the 1960s to the present. These materials reveal paths left unexplored and organization efforts still unfinished to suggest new possibilities for present feminist politics. Debates about the second wave women's movement revolve around the identity and the identification of the subject of feminism and rarely ask, as this book does, how feminism operates as a collective movement. Armstrong attempts to complicate how we disagree over feminism by asking questions about identity and organization, the subject and the movement, and ultimately, what "feminism" should be in our present context of passionate indeterminacy.
