Degas, artiste français, est reconnu pour ses toiles, sculptures, gravures et dessins. Sa longue carrière fut très productive, même lorsqu'il parvint à un âge avancé. On le considère comme étant l'un des fondateurs de l'Impressionnisme, caractérisé par son travail autour du thème de la danse.
