Since the discovery of the DNA structure researchers have been highly interested in the molecular basis of genome inheritance. This book covers a wide range of aspects and issues related to the field of DNA replication. The association between genome replication, repair and recombination is also addressed, as well as summaries of recent work of the replication cycles of prokaryotic and eukaryotic viruses. The reader will gain an overview of our current understanding of DNA replication and related cellular processes, and useful resources for further reading.

Within the context of the ISO/IEEE 11073 family of standards for device communication, this standard establishes a normative definition of the communication between personal strength fitness devices and managers (e.g., cell phones, personal computers, personal health appliances, and set top boxes) in a manner that enables plug-and-play interoperability. It leverages appropriate portions of existing standards including ISO/IEEE 11073 terminology and information models. It specifies the use of specific term codes, formats, and behaviors in telehealth environments restricting optionality in base frameworks in favor of interoperability. This standard defines a common core of communication functionality for personal telehealth strength fitness devices. In this context, strength fitness devices are being used broadly to cover strength fitness devices that measure musculo-skeletal strength-conditioning activities. Keywords: medical device communication, personal health devices, strength fitness equipment.

The consumption and arrangement of medicines by patients in domestic space testify to a relation to oneself, to its body and to the other. Through the study of individual and family practices relating to pharmaceutical consumption and to the disposal of medicines in domestic space, observed in families of Catholic and Protestant origins, this article shows that these practices are not the result of a personal choice. They are socially constructed and this construction varies according to the cultural belonging of the patients. Moreover, the author tries to discover the symbolic logics which underlie these practices and brings to light the structural oppositions (private/public ; individual/collective) around which they settle.
