Ce livre reprend les actes d'un colloque international organisé les 22 et 23 mars 1984 par la Faculté des sciences économiques, sociales et politiques dans le cadre du 125e anniversaire des Facultés universitaires Saint-Louis à Bruxelles. La problématique urbaine y fut abordée sous plusieurs aspects : faire revivre, faire coexister, et faire entreprendre. Autant de thèmes qui permirent un échange fructueux entre théoriciens et praticiens.
