Case-based reasoning is a cognitive model developed to explain how people reason in problem solving. According to this model, a person resorts to knowledge and strategies used in the past to solve or understand a problem that is similar to the current one. Case-based reasoning applied to design is called case-based design. La conoscenza per il progetto explains the scientific reasons and why knowledge is crucial to be a good designer and proposes a method for analysing, breaking down and archiving cases of architecture and design (but not only), the typical knowledge of designers, in order to be able to consciously reuse it in a new project.

Can today's landscape become a living construct again, moved and shaped by a plurality of actors working for its maintenance with shared modalities? This text investigates the landscape's role and its structural features in the governance of the territory, starting from Tuscany's experience with landscape planning: this polyphonic, rich and multifaceted reflection is aimed at promoting the birth of communication tools and agreements, which not only strengthen the decision-making system from the bottom (in order to overcome the acknowledged detachment between plans, policies and common sentiment), but also open the way to the renewal of the consolidated structures of representative democracy.

L'inventario della serie archivistica del Titolo 12 documenta la vicenda della tutela del patrimonio storico-artistico di Roma dopo il 1870 ed illustra l'ampiezza e la valenza dei programmi e delle strutture organizzative poste in essere dagli amministratori della città divenuta Capitale d'Italianel settore della conservazione del patrimonio archeologico, dell'arte e della cultura. Dallo studio condotto sulle fonti possedute dall'Archivio Storico Capitolino emerge il nodo storico centrale della politica e della gestione dei beni culturali che si intreccia con il tema del modello di sviluppo economico, sociale ed urbanistico della città umbertina.

Adoptée sous les auspices du Conseil de l'Europe, la Convention européenne du paysage a pour objet de promouvoir la protection, la gestion et l'aménagement des paysages et d'organiser la coopération internationale dans ce domaine. Elle s'applique à tout le territoire des Parties contractantes et porte sur les espaces naturels, ruraux, urbains et périurbains. Elle concerne les paysages pouvant être considérés comme remarquables, ordinaires ou dégradés. Certaines « dimensions » du paysage sont présentées dans cette publication qui traite de questions essentielles liées à son devenir : la démocratie, l'éducation, l'économie, les loisirs, la publicité… Les processus de gestion des paysages ainsi que le terme même de paysage sont également analysés. Cet ouvrage s'inscrit dans un processus de réflexion sur des thématiques majeures concernant l'espace de la vie.

The aim of the research is to investigate how the set of artistic practices known as public art can create an area of co-design between landscape architecture, urban design and urban art. In recent years, art in the public space has gradually expanded from a conventional idea of monument to the idea of a sign contributing to urban regeneration: a sign building identity, a space creating relationships and relational processes. The research therefore aims to reflect and interpret the concepts that go in this direction, in the possibility of promoting their evolution that tends towards the definition of art, or rather the artistic act, not as an element of the urban scene, but as a process aimed at promoting a multidisciplinary dialogue. Art in/for/with the urban landscape can be read as a tool, as one of the possible means that can activate design processes.
