Die finanzmarktbezogenen und makroökonomischen Implikationen von Vermögenspreisbewegungen haben in letzter Zeit zu unübersehbar großer Aufmerksamkeit in akademischen und politischen Kreisen geführt, und zwar bedingt durch die letzten Boom-Bust-Zyklen auf den Aktien- und aktuell auf den Immobilienmärkten. Gerade das jüngste Beispiel in den USA hatte gezeigt, dass eine Vernachlässigung dieser Entwicklungen zu schwerwiegenden Konsequenzen für die Ökonomie führen kann. Die Konsequenz davon ist, dass sich die Weltwirtschaft gegenwärtig in der schwersten Finanzkrise seit dem zweiten Weltkrieg befindet. Der Vergleich mit der Weltwirtschaftskrise liegt da nahe. Diese Arbeit versucht daher zu klären, inwieweit Vermögenspreise über die unterschiedlichen Transmissionskanäle Auswirkungen auf die wirtschaftliche Aktivität aufweisen, ob und wie sich aufgrund der Bedeutung dieser Vermögenswerte Notenbanken überlegen sollten, diese in ihre geldpolitische Reaktion einzubeziehen und ob die amerikanische Immobilienpreisblase früher hätte erkannt werden können.

This book reviews the historical evolution of U.S. monetary policy, and then uses various methods such as mathematical models and econometric analysis to study the impact of U.S. monetary policy adjustments on the domestic economy and the spillover effects on the world economy. Finally, it summarizes the challenges faced by the Chinese economy in the post-financial crisis era and proposes relevant countermea­sures and suggestions for China to respond to U.S. monetary policy adjustments. Liu Weiping, born in Changsha, Hunan province, is a researcher with China Develo­pment Bank. He holds a Ph.D. in law from the Department of Sociology, Tsinghua University, presides over Professor John L. Thornton's Global Leadership Program, and holds a M.A. in management; he holds a Ph.D. in economics and a B.A. from and is a dual-employed professor of law and economics at the Department of World Economics, Wuhan University; he is a visiting scholar and researcher at the MIT Sloan School of Management and School of History.
