The aim of Sentiment Analysis is to define automatic tools able to extract subjective information from texts in natural language, such as opinions and sentiments, in order to create structured and actionable knowledge to be used by either a decision support system or a decision maker. Sentiment analysis has gained even more value with the advent and growth of social networking. Sentiment Analysis in Social Networks begins with an overview of the latest research trends in the field. It then discusses the sociological and psychological processes underling social network interactions. Internationale migratie kleurt hedendaagse samenlevingen. Tegelijk is de leefsituatie van veel mensen op de vlucht uiterst precair en is het maatschappelijk debat over vluchtelingen de voorbije jaren scherper geworden. Vanuit deze vaststellingen, vinden we het ook als onderzoekers noodzakelijk hier aandacht aan te besteden.Terpoceen, een onbestaand woord voor 'het nieuwe tijdperk', is het resultaat van 60 gesprekken met jonge nieuwkomers (asielzoekers en vluchtelingen) in België. Via deze gesprekken proberen we een breed overzicht te geven van de noden, behoeften maar ook van de krachten en dromen van deze jongeren. De jonge nieuwkomers in dit onderzoek reflecteren op heel diverse manieren over hun leven in België, hun positie en rol in deze nieuwe maatschappij. Door te kiezen voor een grote thematische verscheidenheid, willen we de veelzijdigheid en diversiteit die jonge nieuwkomers in zich dragen, weerspiegelen. Stuk voor stuk hebben ze een uniek verhaal te vertellen, over hun verleden, heden en toekomst.Het is dan ook niet de bedoeling om de besproken resultaten toe te passen op de gehele populatie nieuwkomers. Het is wel een vaste ambitie om hun leefsituatie te begrijpen en tastbaar te maken.
