The main topic of these papers is the attempt to formulate the beginnings of a theology of development, the first part of the book relects on the meeting 'sodepax 1969' p.1-64, the second part contains the prepatory papers. In general they are dealing with history, change, the church and its mission, ethics,justice and society, especially liberation. The Christian-Marxist dialogue plays a role here and the biblical/revelational perspective ; emphasis is laid upon the unity of spiritual and physical qualities of man, the political calling of faith and religion, the preference for the poor and oppressed and the question of social and political revolution.
