Il libro costituisce un riuscito esperimento di ricerca che ha avuto successo anche come risorsa didattica. Propone una valutazione critica degli strumenti concettuali elaborati per leggere e comprendere una società. Vengono affrontati dieci concetti sociologici (Comunità, Cittadinanza, Classe sociale, Capitale sociale, Genere, Classe dirigente, Partito politico, Cultura politica, Subcultura, Antipolitica) ognuno preso in esame da un giovane ricercatore attivo nell'ambito del dottorato fiorentino di Sociologia e di Sociologia politica. Un coinvolgimento dei giovani che ha consentito una rivisitazione di concetti "vecchi" e l'individuazione dell'efficacia euristica di concetti "nuovi". Gianfranco Bettin Lattes insegna Sistemi sociali comparati presso la facoltà di Scienze politiche dell'Università di Firenze ed è direttore del Centro Interuniversitario di Sociologia Politica (Ciuspo).

The volume presents the results of a research developed within a specific program of the European Union. The analysis conducted by Italian, French and Spanish scholars and coordinated by the Interuniversity Centre of Political Sociology of the University of Florence, reconstructs the training paths of the new generations within the social and economic context of Southern Europe, with particular regard to the condition of university students and to youth unemployment. The theme is also examined and discussed in relation to a broader sociological reflection on the values that shape the future of political culture in contemporary Europe.

Este volumen tiene como objetivo principal el de aproximar a todos los públicos, sean o no juristas, las normas básicas del derecho del trabajo. Este libro forma parte del proyecto “Una finestra sul mondo del lavoro” de la Universidad Milán- Bicocca promovido por la Asociación estudiantil de Biocca y Listas de Izquierdas. Dentro de este proyecto, los doctorandos de la facultad de derecho, los practicantes y jóvenes abogados especializados en derecho del trabajo, han unido sus conocimientos para crear una plataforma de formación jurídica laboral para los estudiantes. Esta obra no tiene la ambición de tratar en modo académico estos argumentos, sino que pretende dar a conocer a todos la posibilidad de acceder a la información básica para poder comprender la regulación del propio contrato de trabajo.

This report presents results of a study of how young men and women reallocate their time when they become parents. It examines a wide range of activities, but focuses on two key aspects of the lives of young adults: education and employment. Data were taken from the National Longitudinal Study of the High School Class of 1972. The report's principal finding is that young couples who became parents in the 1970s, like those in previous decades, have modified their lifestyles in accordance with traditional family roles--the women serving as homemakers and mothers and the men as breadwinners; but on the whole, they have met the demands and responsibilities of parenthood without changing their views of who they are or what they wish to accomplish. The authors also found that new parents tend to have more stable marriages than couples who remain childless. Wenn Jugendliche zu Drogen greifen, gibt es eine ganze Reihe unterschiedlicher Beweggründe und Einflüsse. Die AutorInen arbeiten heraus und analysieren, welche dies sind. Daraus entwickeln sie Empfehlungen für die Praxis. Die wissenschaftliche Darstellung wird von Originalzitaten zweier Jugendlicher begleitet, die gegen ihre Drogenabhängigkeit kämpfen. So bekommt die Darstellung regelrecht Leben eingehaucht. Ein unentbehrliches Hilfsmittel für alle PraktikerInnen in der Jugendarbeit - ob Soziale Arbeit, Schule oder Psychologie und Therapie -, für alle EntscheiderInnen und Träger. Das Buch gewährt Einblicke in aktuelle Suchtforschung. In einer Langzeitstudie untersuchten die AutorInnen jugendliche Drogenkonsumenten in der stationären psychiatrischen Behandlung. Die empirischen Befunde liefern Hinweise und Merkmale zu Suchtkarriere, Familienbiographie, zum Grad der Traumatisierung, zu Vorerkrankungen, zum Freizeitverhalten, der Beschaffenheit der sozialen Netzwerke und zu geschlechtsspezifischen Besonderheiten. Abschließend geben die AutorInnen Empfehlungen für die pädagogischtherapeutische Behandlung von jugendlichen Suchtpatienten und -patientinnen. Die Schnittstelle zwischen Jugendhilfe und Psychiatrie wird dabei besonders beleuchtet.
