Stefan Hertmans heeft zich in de afgelopen dertig jaar bewezen als een dichter die niet alleen een groot en consistent oeuvre op zijn naam heeft staan, maar ook een ontwikkeling heeft doorgemaakt in zijn werk naar een steeds vrijere, lossere manier van kijken.
