Oscar van de Voorde was de officiële architect van de wereldtentoonstelling te Gent in 1913; tijdgenoot en vriend van Albert van Huffel; hij realiseerde veel van zijn projecten in Gent en was ook een tijdlang als architect voor sociale woningbouw actief, getuige daarvan nog enkele tuinwijken in Gent; hij was ook geruime tijd lesgever en later directeur aan de Gentse Academie.
