L'approche classique de l'attachement a souvent été celle des séparations restreintes (hospitalisation, placement, étrange situation) mais que se passe-t-il lorsque la séparation est totale et radicale et que le changement est complet ( langue, race...) ? Comment des enfants (de 2-4 ans) qui ont été témoins de leur transplantation et ont vécu des séparations en cascades peuvent-ils reformer de nouveaux attachements ? Une enquête auprès de 21 familles adoptives complétée par un Q-sort longitudinal a permis une approche rationnelle. Les nouveaux attachements sont liés aux antécédents, aux conditions d'accueil... L'attachement devient l'intermédiaire, la clé d'accès à l'environnement
