Abstract

Dit werk is het resultaat van het eerste vergelijkende onderzoek van het onderwijs Frans en Engels als vreemde taal in secundaire scholen in Vlaanderen. Het onderzoek richtte zich op drie groepen van factoren en hun wisselwerking: de curriculaire factoren (aantal contacturen, leerplan-inhouden, eindtermen, pedagogische principes, methodes en strategieën- didactisch materiaal), de sociaal-psychologische factoren (attitudes, motivaties, percepties van de doeltalen en hun respectieve culturen), het niveau van de taalvaardigheid aan het einde van de secundaire cyclus. Het doel van het onderzoek is tweevoudig: enerzijds een stand van zaken bieden van het huidige vreemdetalenonderwijs in Vlaanderen, anderzijds een theoretisch onderbouwd referentiekader ontwikkelen voor de evaluatie van dit vreemdetalenonderwijs.
