Das Praxishandbuch Musikrecht gibt eine verständliche Einführung in die komplexe Materie des Musikrechts. Es erläutert in klarer Sprache mit vielen Beispielen die Rechtsfragen, mit denen sich Kreative und Unternehmen in allen Schaffensbereichen der Musikbranche auseinandersetzen müssen. Die rechtlichen Bedingungen der Stammzellforschung und des Klonens von Menschen in vier Rechtsordnungen sind Gegenstand der Untersuchung. Dargestellt wird die Rechtslage in Großbritannien, den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika und in Frankreich. Anschließend wird vor diesem Hintergrund das deutsche Recht erläutert. Dabei ergibt sich, dass zwar die Grundpositionen teilweise sehr unterschiedlich sind, es gleichwohl auch Gemeinsamkeiten gibt. Die Entwicklungslinien werden sowohl in verfassungsrechtlicher als auch in einfachrechtlicher Hinsicht nachgezeichnet. Zur speziell in Deutschland prägenden Diskussion über die Menschenwürde bzw. das Lebensrecht und den damit verbundenen Fragen nach den einfachrechtlich erfassten Rechtsgütern stellt der Autor einen eigenen Lösungsansatz vor.

This book contains a collection of papers exploring the cross-linguistic expression of topic and focus. A diverse set of perspectives from some of the leading scholars in the areas of semantics and intonation are represented in the collection, which is based on papers presented at the Topic and Focus Workshop at the 2001 LSA Summer Institute in Santa Barbara. This book is unique in the breadth of its typological coverage of topic and focus phenomena. Material is presented from nine languages, including several that are severely under-documented from a theoretical perspective. The expression of topic and focus are integral aspects of linguistic communication that introduce the content of discourse and emphasize its most crucial elements. As bilingual individuals enter the educational system and the clinical landscape, they struggle with intricate, often painful questions of identity, culture, and assimilation. Professionals working with these individuals need to complement their knowledge of specific cultural issues with the psychological processes that all bilingual speakers share.
