Doelstelling: In deze scriptie wordt nagegaan of er grote verschillen zijn tussen de Vlaamse en de Nederlandse vergadercultuur. Aan de hand van het befaamde onderzoek van Geert Hofstede wordt er dieper ingegaan op de cultuurverschillen tussen Nederland en Vlaanderen om te achterhalen welke invloed die hebben op hun vergadercultuur. Vervolgens wil de scriptie ook enkele theoretische en praktische tips meegeven voor Vlaamse professionals die vaak in Nederland moeten vergaderen. Ten slotte willen we nagaan of het imago van de Nederlandse vergadercultuur wel degelijk klopt: hoe ervaren Vlamingen de Nederlandse vergadercultuur in werkelijkheid? Middelen of methode: Eerst wordt elke vergadercultuur afzonderlijk besproken, waarna de algemene verschillen op een rijtje worden gezet. Om een zo algemeen mogelijk beeld te krijgen van beide vergaderculturen werden verscheidene bronnen geraadpleegd over Nederland, Vlaanderen, interculturele communicatie, vergaderen,… Aangezien er geen specifiek cursusmateriaal beschikbaar was voor Vlamingen die zakendoen in Nederland, heb ik zelf concrete tips samengesteld uit de bronnen. Ten slotte werd bij een aantal Vlaamse professionals een online enquête afgenomen over de Nederlandse vergadercultuur. Resultaten: Het verschil in vergadercultuur tussen Nederland en Vlaanderen blijkt toch wel vrij groot te zijn, vooral op het gebied van communicatie, autoriteit, emoties en het opbouwen van relaties. Uit de resultaten van de enquête blijkt ook dat het algemene beeld dat Vlamingen hebben over de Nederlandse vergadercultuur grotendeels overeenkomt met de bevindingen uit het bronnenonderzoek.

Emerging from the ruins of the Second World War, the Japanese economy has grown at double-digit rate throughout much of the 1950's and 1960's, and, when the oil crisis of the 1970's slowed growth throughout the industrialized world, Japanese growth throughout the industrialized world, Japanese growth rates remained relatively strong. There have been many attempts by scholars from a wide range of disciplines to explain this remarkable history, but for economists interested in the quantitative analysis of economic growth and the principal question addressed is how Japan was able to grow so rapidly. The contributors focus their efforts on the accurate measurement and comparison of Japanese and U.S. economic growth. Assuming that any sustained increase in real GNP must be due either to an increase in the quantity of capital and labor used in production or to the more efficient use of these inputs, the authors analyze the individual contributions of various factors and their importance in the process of output growth. These essays extend the methodology of growth analysis and offer many insights into the factors leading to the superior performance of the Japanese economy. They demonstrate that growth is a complex process and no single factor can explain the Japanese 'miracle.'

Les chaînes de valeur mondiales transforment radicalement la façon dont les biens et services sont produits. Ce rapport présente un large éventail de données de l’OCDE sur la mondialisation des chaînes de valeur et l’augmentation de l’externalisation et des délocalisations. Il étudie l’incidence de la mondialisation de la production sur les pays de l’OCDE, tant au niveau macroéconomique que sectoriel. Les coûts et les avantages de la mondialisation sont ensuite analysés, notamment en matière d’emploi et de productivité. Enfin, cet ouvrage examine l’effet de la mondialisation sur la compétitivité des pays de l’OCDE, en soulignant l’importance d’une stratégie d’innovation efficace. Il traite de la question de la progression dans la chaîne de valeur non seulement au sein des pays de l’OCDE, mais également en Chine, dans un contexte où la R-D gagne de plus en plus les pays émergents.
