De oorspronkelijke teksten zijn herschreven en aangevuld met vele extra’s zoals nieuw beeldmateriaal en actuele informatie over achterliggende oorzaken, behandelmogelijkheden, voetgerelateerde ziektebeelden, minder bekend instrumentarium, schoenadvies en ervaringen van andere collega’s. Daarnaast vertelt de auteur, in samenspraak met de betrokken (medisch) pedicures, hoe de voeten van hun cliënten uit de casussen van weleer er in 2015 voor staan.   De onderwerpen zijn divers en variëren in complexiteit. Zowel de instrumentele behandelingen als het toepassen van specialistische technieken krijgen aandacht. Dat maakt deze uitgave aantrekkelijk voor zowel beginnende als ervaren (medisch) pedicures.   Journalist, schrijver en pedicure Ellen van Kruining publiceert sinds 2005 zeer regelmatig artikelen in Podopost.

Midwives support women during the reproductive period of their lives. Dimensions of midwifery work include, in addition to the physiological aspect, psychological and spiritual issues. Midwifery activities mean involvement in the most intimate sphere of clients' lives. Women's perceptions of partnership, sexuality, pregnancy and birth are affected by their personal experiences and by the culture they live in. The same factors also influence the midwives' perception of these issues.
