The monograph is a result of the conference meetings organized at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences in 2016-2018 entitled "Modern systems of Slavic bibliographic information - today and tomorrow" and "Linguistics and Slavic bibliographic information systems - today and tomorrow". These meetings were devoted to problems occurring in such disciplines as information sciences, bibliology, linguistics and terminology. The participants of these meetings, the Authors of the texts, are researchers of Polish and foreign academic institutions, most of whom work within one of two Committees of the International Committee of Slavists: the Commission on Linguistic Bibliography and the Terminological Commission. The book includes theoretical and practical works. The common reference point of the monograph is the information retrieval system iSybislav that is in fact a digital bibliographic database, which presents contemporary achievements of world Slavic linguistics and is elaborated by an international team of linguists.

Through a new collection of primary documents about Japanese internment during World War II, this book enables a broader understanding of the injustice experienced by displaced people within the United States in the 20th century. In the 1940s, Japanese and Japanese American internees of Redwood City, CA, had a dedicated ally: J. Elmer Morrish, a banker who kept their businesses alive, made sure their taxes were paid, and safeguarded their properties until after the end of World War II and the internees were finally released. What were Morrish's motivations for his tireless efforts to help the internees? How did the unjustly incarcerated deal with the loss of freedom in the camps, and how did they envision their future? And how did the internees both cooperate with the U.S. government and attempt to resist victimization? Citizen Internees: A Second Look at Race and Citizenship in Japanese American Internment Camps is an edited selection from a collection of more than 2,000 pieces of correspondence-some of which is previously unpublished-regarding the internment of Japanese and Japanese Americans from Redwood City, CA. These primary source documents reveal the experiences and emotions of a group of imprisoned people attempting to run the necessary day-to-day tasks of the lives they were forced to leave behind-as property owners, taxpayers, and proprietors. Through these letters about practical matters, readers can gain insight into the internees' changing family relations, their financial concerns, and their struggles in making decisions about an uncertain future. The book also includes essays that supply background information, analysis of the documents' contents and meaning, and historical context.

Introduction: lymphatic malformations (LM) are vascular anomalies resulting from erroneous embryogenesis of lymphatic vessels. Given their various clinical manifestations, their diagnostic and therapeutic management require a multidisciplinary team. There are no established guidelines regarding the treatment of the LM. Nowadays, sclerotherapy is often considered as first line treatment, in spite of surgery. Although many sclerosing agents have been studied, none of them has been proved more effective and secure than others. Methods: We analyzed the medical records of 46 patients presenting LM that have been treated by percutaneous sclerotherapy at Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc by the same operator. On basis of this data, a statistical analysis using Fisher exact test was performed assessing the following outcomes: size reduction, symptom relief, subsequent treatment and adverse effects. An analysis concerning confounding variables was also performed. Results: Size reduction was observed in 76% of sclerotherapies, including 44% defined as good to excellent; only Bleomycin showed greater effectiveness in comparison with other sclerosing agents ( p = 0,037 with the sole use of Bleomycin and p=0,022 with sole use or associated with other agents). Regarding symptom relief, once again Bleomycin was more effective (p=0,202 and p=0,020; when used as first agent p=0,047 and p=0,040). On the contrary, no statically significant difference between sclerosing agents was shown regarding the need of subsequent treatments. Finally, Bleomycin might show greater effectiveness and security than the other sclerosing agents used in the treatment of LM (Aethoxysclerol, Ethanol and Picibanil). However, we need to underline that, given the small size of the different groups; statistical analysis was performed by comparing a product to the grouped samples of the other sclerosing agents. This necessity might have led to bias by preventing us from appreciating the impact of each sclerosing agent. Introduction : Les malformations lymphatiques (LM) sont des anomalies vasculaires résultant d’une embryogénèse erronée des vaisseaux lymphatiques. Au vu de leurs manifestations cliniques très variées, leur prise en charge diagnostique et thérapeutique se doit être multidisciplinaire. Il n’existe de ce fait aucune guideline établie pour le traitement des LM. Le traitement de type sclérothérapeuthique est aujourd’hui souvent considéré comme traitement de première ligne, supplantant parfois la chirurgie. Cependant, de nombreux produits sclérosants ont été étudiés sans qu’aucun ne ressorte comme supérieur aux autres en termes d’efficacité et de sécurité dans le traitement des LM. Méthodes : Nous avons analysé les dossiers 46 patients atteints de LM et ayant été traités par sclérothérapie percutanée aux Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc pour le même opérateur. Sur base de ceux-ci, une analyse statistique par test exact de Fisher a été effectuée sur les outcomes suivants : la diminution de taille, l’amendement symptomatique, les traitements subséquents ainsi que les effets secondaires. Une analyse des variables confondantes a également effectué. Résultats : Une diminution de taille a été observée dans 76% des cas dont 44 % de diminution bonne à excellente ; seule la bléomycine s’est montrée plus efficace en comparaison avec les autres sclérosants utilisés (p =0,037 en usage seul et p= 0,022 en usage seul ou en association). Concernant l’amendement symptomatique, la bléomycine s’est également montrée plus efficace (p = 0,202 et p= 0,020 ; en primo-utilisation p= 0,047 et p = 0,040). Par contre, aucune différence significative entre les différents produits sclérosants n’a pu être démontrée quant à un éventuel recours à un traitement subséquent. Enfin, la bléomycine s’est montrée plus sure en provoquant moins fréquemment des effets secondaires plurimodaux (p= 0,003 et p = 0,05). Au contraire, le Picibanil, uniquement utilisé seul, a provoqué plus fréquemment des effets secondaires plurimodaux (p = 0,013) mais également des gonflements post-sclérothérapeutiques (p= 0,013). Discussion : ces résultats tendent à démontrer que la bléomycine pourrait être plus efficace et plus sure que les autres produits sclérosants utilisés dans le traitement des LM (Aethoxysclérol, éthanol et Picibanil). Trotz der Wandlungsprozesse innerhalb der Diskurse um Geschlecht und Sexualität bleibt die Diskriminierung queerer Identitäten ein virulentes Problem. Die Formen dieser Diskriminierung untersucht die Autorin in ihrer Studie. Anhand von Interviews zeichnet sie die Auswirkungen der Heteronormativität auf die Betroffenen nach und mittels einer Diskursanalyse untersucht sie die historischen Wandlungsprozesse in der Konstruktion queerer Identitäten. Daraus leitet die Autorin die fortbestehende Notwendigkeit konkreter politischer und gesellschaftlicher Emanzipation ab.
