Het Compendium van het personen- en familierecht beschrijft de begrippen en de voornaamste regels van het Belgische personen- en familierecht op een gestructureerde en vlot toegankelijke manier. Deze editie is up-to-date tot en met 1 januari 2022. Dat maakt dit boek een onmisbaar referentiewerk voor het Belgische personen- en familierecht. Naast de talrijke wetgevende hervormingen van de jaren 2014-2019, opgenomen in de vorige edities, werden in deze editie nieuwe wetten verwerkt, onder meer: ?- Vlaams decreet van 26 april 2019 houdende de oprichting van een afstammingscentrum en een DNA-databank; - wet van 31 juli 2020 houdende diverse dringende bepalingen inzake justitie; - wet van 20 mei 2021 tot wijziging van het oud Burgerlijk Wetboek, betreffende de persoonlijke banden tussen broers en zussen. Ook deze rechtspraak en de consequenties ervan voor de rechtspraktijk werden verwerkt in dit compendium. This book presents multidimensional knowledge on children of incarcerated parents using Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory as an organizing framework. It examines the extent to which different levels of the environment are supportive (i.e., leading to resilience) and stress-producing (i.e., contributing to risk). The volume explores four levels of the environment - microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, and macrosystem - with specific theories and paradigms woven into the inquiry at each. At the level of child and family, it discusses the factors that influence resilience and risk in children from gestation through young adulthood; at the community level, it addresses risk and resilience in the interactions between children and families and the various systems with which they interact (e.g., child welfare). With regard to family law, this volume examines claims based on cultural tradition, ethnic background, custom, religious affiliation and sexual orientation, as well as various other "claims" that are not officially recognized in state law, in 15 jurisdictions around the world. The country reports seek to determine whether these claims represent a challenge to family law as conceived by the state, and if so, how these challenges are being managed. The focus lies on the interaction between (i) claims and traditions raising minority-related and diversity-related issues and (ii) the state as the addressee of these demands for accommodation. The reports identify specific instances and situations that have proven (and in many cases still are) particularly difficult to resolve. They force decision-makers to engage in a delicate balancing act between different, often clashing interests.
