What is the role of literature in an era when one political party wages continual war on writers and the press? What is the connection between political strife in our daily lives, and the way we meet our enemies on the page in fiction? How can literature, through its free exchange, affect politics? In this galvanizing guide to literature as resistance, Nafisi seeks to answer these questions. Drawing on her experiences as a woman and voracious reader living in the Islamic Republic of Iran, her life as an immigrant in the United States, and her role as literature professor in both countries, she crafts an argument for why, in a genuine democracy, we must engage with the enemy, and how literature can be a vehicle for doing so. Le présent mémoire porte sur la traduction commentée de l'allemand vers le français du livre Fuck Beauty! Warum uns der Wunsch nach makelloser Schönheit unglücklich macht und was wir dagegen tun können de Nunu Kaller. Le commentaire traductologique propose une réflexion sur les divers phénomènes récurrents qui constituent des enjeux majeurs. Cette partie est divisée selon les grandes problématiques suivantes : la traduction de l’opinion dans le texte engagé, la traduction des référents culturels et la traduction du style. Ces points sont analysés et étayés par des exemples issus du présent travail. Ensuite, des tendances sont dégagées et viennent éclairer les procédés utilisés dans la traduction. L’étude de ces trois points met en avant l’importance d’une traduction qui respecte les intentions de l’autrice et reproduit les effets du texte source. Cette considération occupe une place centrale dans la réflexion traductologique menée dans le présent travail.
