Depuis plusieurs décennies qu’existent des comités d’éthique médicale, des hommes et des femmes de toutes les disciplines parviennent ensemble, par le biais d’un dialogue courtois et maîtrisé, à déterminer ce qui constitue un problème éthique dans une situation médicale singulière. Le problème posé, le comité analyse et précise le conflit entre des exigences ou des valeurs souvent contradictoires qui rendent toujours la décision difficile. À la fin, le comité rédige un avis consultatif que l’équipe médicale, ainsi éclairée, suivra ou non. This textbook offers an introduction to the field of bioethics, specifically from a practicing physician standpoint.
