Alors que plus de 90 % du volume de marchandises produites dans le monde transitent chaque année par la mer, le transport maritime demeure un univers largement méconnu. Comment s'organisent ces flux de marchandises ? Que se passe-t-il sur ces géants de la mondialisation que sont les navires de commerce ? Qui y travaille, comment, et à quel prix ?À partir d'une enquête ethnographique, cet ouvrage propose de découvrir l'envers de l'acheminement des biens que nous consommons et de saisir le travail mondialisé " par le bas ". Tandis que les profondes transformations qui ont affecté le secteur ces dernières années ont instauré une rationalisation extrême, commandée par la logique marchande, ce qui faisait le sel de la vie de marin semble s'être réduit comme peau de chagrin. Dans ce huis clos de la mondialisation, le collectif de travail doit répondre à des injonctions contradictoires : assurer la sécurité de tous tout en transportant davantage et en flux continu, garantir des formes de solidarité malgré les inégalités de statut et de rémunération. Selon les situations, les identités de classe, de race et de genre se font et se défont, sans pour autant donner lieu à une remise en cause des hiérarchies sociales – il en va de la paix sociale à bord.

The mental and emotional wellbeing of seafarers can directly impact their job performance, decision-making abilities, and overall safety of the ship. Neglecting the importance of maritime wellbeing can lead to accidents, injuries, and even fatalities at sea. Therefore, it is vital to prioritize the wellbeing of seafarers and provide them with adequate support, resources, and training to ensure a healthy and safe working environment onboard ship. The book investigates China's relations to the outside world between ca. 100 BCE and 1800 CE. In contrast to most histories of the Silk Roads, the focus of this book clearly lies on the maritime Silk Road and on the period between Tang and high Qing, selecting aspects that have so far been neglected in research on the history of China's relations with the outside world.

Der Autor befasst sich mit den (verbands-)rechtlichen Grenzen einer privaten Super-Liga im europäischen Spitzenfußball. Er geht - ebenso wie der EuGH in der Rs. C-333/21 - der Frage nach, ob die UEFA konkurrierende Wettbewerbe regulieren und Klubs und Spieler für die Teilnahme an solchen Wettbewerben sanktionieren darf, um die etablierten Strukturen des europäischen Sportmodells zu schützen. Anders als der EuGH untersucht er dabei auch die Vereinbarkeit der neuen UEFA-Genehmigungsregeln für internationale Klubwettbewerbe (Ausgabe 2022) mit dem EU-Kartellrecht. Gegenstand der Arbeit ist zudem die unionskartellrechtliche Zulässigkeit einer geschlossenen europäischen Super-Liga.
